Questions

Do I need a licence to do plumbing or drain work for Roundhouse in Toronto?

Yes. Plumbing is a compulsory trade in Ontario, so the person doing it holds a 306A Certificate of Qualification or is a registered apprentice working under one. Toronto also licenses plumbing contractors and drain contractors, and the licence has to match the work. Roundhouse asks for the numbers before the first booking.

Is gas work included?

Only for TSSA registered contractors. If you hold the registration, say so when you apply and gas water heaters and gas lines can be part of your scope.

How and when am I paid?

Seven days from close out, by e-transfer or EFT, at the rate you quoted. There is no charge for being paid on time.

Does the tenant ever pay me?

No. Roundhouse is your customer. You invoice Roundhouse, and the tenant never pays you or changes the job on site.

What if I find more work once the wall is open?

Stop, send photos and a price. Once the change is approved and added to the job, carry on. Work done without approval cannot go on the invoice.
