# Roofing work on Toronto rentals, paid in seven days

Roundhouse is adding roofers to its own trades for Toronto residential rentals. You quote, we confirm, the tenants have been told you are coming, and you are paid seven days after close out at your rate.

## Roofing jobs you can quote

- **Roof repairs.** Shingle repairs, flat roof repairs and coatings, and flashing at chimneys, walls and vents.
- **Eavestroughs and downspouts.** Repairs, with full replacements quoted separately.
- **Tenants below.** Houses, semis, duplexes and walk ups, with ladders, materials and debris kept clear of their entrances.

## Access and leak photos before you climb

- **Access arranged.** Agreed with the tenants before you drive.
- **Interior leak photos.** Sent ahead where the leak shows inside.
- **Scope locked.** A change on site is approved first, then added.

## What we ask in return

- **Working at heights training.** For everyone on the roof, with the training records on file.
- **WSIB clearance.** Where WSIB coverage applies to your work, a current clearance, checked before booking and before every payment, because without it the principal can be liable for a contractor's unpaid premiums.
- **Liability insurance.** The certificate is on file.
- **Close out photos.** From the roof, before and after, taken before you come down.

## Pay terms

- 7 days from close out to payment. By e-transfer or EFT, no factoring, no early pay charge.
- 0% deducted from your invoice. The rate you quoted is the rate you are paid.
- 1 customer to deal with. Access arranged, scope locked, photos before you drive.

## Questions

### Do I need a licence to do roofing for Roundhouse in Toronto?

Ontario does not license roofing contractors. Since April 1, 2017, roofing contractors must hold a working at heights training card, and the training is valid for three years. You also need WSIB coverage where the law requires it, with a current clearance certificate on file.

### How and when am I paid?

Seven days from close out, by e-transfer or EFT, at the rate you quoted. There is no charge for being paid on time.

### Does the tenant ever pay me?

No. Roundhouse is your customer. You invoice Roundhouse, and the tenant never pays you or changes the job on site.

### Are full replacements part of the work?

Full replacements are quoted separately from repairs. Send your price on the job and we confirm it before you start.
