# Plumbing and drain work in Toronto rentals, paid in seven days

Roundhouse is adding plumbers and drain contractors to its own trades for Toronto residential rentals. You quote, we confirm, the tenant knows you are coming, and you are paid seven days after close out at your rate.

## Plumbing and drain jobs you can quote

- **Plumbing repairs.** Leaks, taps, toilets, shower valves, shut offs, supply and drain lines, and water heaters in occupied units.
- **Slow and blocked drains.** Snaking, augering and camera inspection, from a kitchen sink to the building drain.
- **Gas work, with registration.** Gas water heaters and gas lines only when your TSSA registration is on file.

## Occupied units, handled before you arrive

- **Tenant told.** The access window is agreed and the tenant knows you are coming.
- **Photos of the fault.** On the job before you drive, with the address, unit and approved scope.
- **Water off first.** Semis, duplexes, walk ups and condos: shut it off, tell the tenant, leave the floor dry.

Emergencies such as a burst pipe carry an on site target of 2 hours in the GTA. Tell us on your application whether you take after hours calls. This website is not an emergency line.

## What we ask in return

- **Your licence.** Your 306A Certificate of Qualification, and the City of Toronto Plumbing Contractor or Drain Contractor licence, where the work requires it.
- **WSIB clearance.** Where WSIB coverage applies to your work, a current clearance, checked before booking and before every payment.
- **Liability insurance.** The certificate is on file.
- **Close out photos.** Before and after, the part that came out, and the camera clip where one was run.

## Pay terms

- 7 days from close out to payment. By e-transfer or EFT, no factoring, no early pay charge.
- 0% deducted from your invoice. The rate you quoted is the rate you are paid.
- 1 customer to deal with. Access arranged, scope locked, photos before you drive.

## Questions

### Do I need a licence to do plumbing or drain work for Roundhouse in Toronto?

Yes. Plumbing is a compulsory trade in Ontario, so the person doing it holds a 306A Certificate of Qualification or is a registered apprentice working under one. Toronto also licenses plumbing contractors and drain contractors, and the licence has to match the work. Roundhouse asks for the numbers before the first booking.

### Is gas work included?

Only for TSSA registered contractors. If you hold the registration, say so when you apply and gas water heaters and gas lines can be part of your scope.

### How and when am I paid?

Seven days from close out, by e-transfer or EFT, at the rate you quoted. There is no charge for being paid on time.

### Does the tenant ever pay me?

No. Roundhouse is your customer. You invoice Roundhouse, and the tenant never pays you or changes the job on site.

### What if I find more work once the wall is open?

Stop, send photos and a price. Once the change is approved and added to the job, carry on. Work done without approval cannot go on the invoice.

We only use ECRA/ESA-Licensed Electrical Contractors.
